Half of all head and neck teratomas occur in the nose. Girls are affected six times more frequently than boys. Teratoma manifests as sessile or pedunculated masses in the nasopharynx and is associated with cranial deformity, such as anencephaly, hemicrania, and palatal fissures. Hair, skin, bone, cartilage, and teeth have been found in teratomas.
