Furuncle is the most common of the infectious lesions of the nasal vestibule. The pathogen is Staphylococcus aureus. Treatment consists of drainage and antistaphylococcal antibiotics. A complication is septal abscess, which causes suppurative chondritis, cartilage erosion, and saddle-nose deformity.
