If undesirable effects—such as sleepiness and overdrying from first-generation antihistamines, stimulatory effects of systemic decongestants, local and even systemic effects of nasal glucocorticoids—occur with drug therapy for nasal allergy, a change in therapeutic agent normally alleviates the problem.
